Why Marine Stereo Equipment?
You may be tempted you use car audio gear, but water, salt and rough waves can all take their toll on electronics. Our units are designed to thrive in a tough environment. Shock resistance for a stereo in a marine environment is also extremely important. Every hard hitting wave can damage sensitive electronic equipment, but our products are built to handle the vibration of a bumpy boat ride.
If you purchase one of our units that is not completely waterproof, we recommend using a splash cover. They are inexpensive and easy to install. You may also want to consider an enclosure. It offers an easy mounting method while protecting the reciever from moisture. All of our stereos use some type of plasticote over the circuitry to protect it against moisture and corrosion. Some even have completely waterproof faces with sealed controls that won't let water in.
There is no substitute for a quality speaker in a wet environment and we have a great selection from which to choose. All are corrosion and water resistant with waterproof components while some are completely sealed and waterproof for your peace of mind. None of them have paper cones and all of the circuitry is protected.
So you can install car audio equipment on your boat and continually replace it or invest a little more and get a lasting stereo system with the proper marine electronics.
